Biomechanics consultancy

Biomechanics consultancy available at Cotswold Chiropractic

Our Cheltenham clinic has been providing healthcare for local people since 1993.

What is a biomechanics consultant?

Our biomechanics consultant specialises in treating conditions of the feet and lower limbs,  such as plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendonitis, ankle equinus, and patella tendonitis, to improve mobility and reduce pain for patients. Whether working with sportspeople, those recovering from injuries, individuals with disabilities, or elderly patients seeking improved mobility, a deep understanding of lower limbs and foot health ensures that patients feel informed and supported. Our experienced biomechanics consultant helps patients, making the most of the latest tools, techniques, and products.

At the first visit a comprehensive biomechanical assessment is conducted to evaluate and understand the underlying causes of foot and lower limb issues. Assessment methods include gait analysis, postural assessments, and identifying musculoskeletal imbalances to ensure precise diagnoses and effective, personalised treatment plans.

Treatment approaches may include:

Targeted rehabilitation exercises  - these exercises are designed to strengthen muscles, improve flexibility, and support recovery from injuries. Each program is personalised to suit the patient’s condition and goals, promoting long-term improvements in function and mobility.

Custom Orthotics - our biomechanics consultant specialises in the design and fitting of custom orthotics to correct foot and lower limb alignment. These tailor-made orthopaedic insoles provide support, combat pain (including back and knee pain), improve comfort and enhance performance in daily activities or sports. They're ideal for anyone, including athletes.
